TAP brings a modern twist to a traditional English carriage house.

When the owners of this lake home in Spicer, MN needed more living space and vehicle storage, they knew TAP Architecture was the perfect partner to design a traditional English carriage house with a modern twist.

The design of the new carriage house took cues from its surroundings, using colors and textures that work harmoniously with the landscape. On the lower level, TAP skillfully met the requirements of 10′ garage doors and 12′ ceilings. And on the upper level, a cozy living space overlooks a serene pond. 

Today, the large garage gives the owners all the storage space they need… and the second floor provides guests with an intimate, tranquil “tree fort” suite.
